Drawing
Our drawing sessions alternate monthly from clothed portrait drawing sessions to nude figurative drawing sessions. All sessions are Wednesdays 6:30-9:30pm. The subject is under controlled light. Informal instruction will be available by session leader though we encourage peer support and influence. We hold group critiques the last Wednesday of each month.

Portrait Drawing: ---- features clothed models who hold a single pose for each session to encourage prolonged and in-depth study. We encourage beginners to start with graphite pencil or charcoal on white paper and invite our intermediate to advanced artists to use any surface medium of their choice (In consideration for other artists please use odor free materials. Please refrain from excessive use of turpentine, varnishing oil mediums, etc). The donation is $5 each session.

Figure Drawing: ---- works from live nude models in tasteful, non-erotic poses. We will have the same model for all Wednesdays in a given month. Typically we'll begin each session with 4 short poses, each held for 5 minutes. We'll then have a "long pose" that will be the same posture repeated for the rest of the session. This pose will be the same repeated pose that we draw from for the rest of the sessions in that month. For artists younger than the age of 18 interested in taking part in the figure drawing session, we require that they have their parents or guardians provide consent verbally or in writing prior to attending. The donation is $10 each session (half goes to pay the model).

Please email the group leader to find out the model arrangement for a given night.
